Foundry616 is thrilled to present this exciting Sydney-based big band led by Dan Barnett, one of our premier vocalist/trombonists.

The Dan Barnett big band “Strictly Swingin’" is a night of classic swing - for one night only is playing for dancing and listening pleasure.

As the name Strictly Swingin' suggests, the band plays original arrangements of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, Tommy Dorsey, Woody Herman and Ray Noble. The playlist ranges from 1920’s traditional Jazz, New Orleans/Dixie Jazz, to modern contemporary dance music and everything in between.

Having studied under some of the leading musicians in Australia and the USA, Dan Barnett went on to guest star with a wide cross section of performers – ranging from Dragon, The Whitlams and Jimmy Barnes - to The Gotham City Horns, James Morrison and Tommy Emmanuel. He has also delighted theatre audiences with his featured roles in the Australian productions of “Buddy” (the Buddy Holly story); and “Testimony – The Legend of Charlie Parker”.
