Event Details

Around the world, February 12th is a commemoration of the birth of Charles Darwin in 1809. The day celebrates his contribution to science and stresses the importance of knowledge, new scientific frontiers, and education in general.

Where better to hold this celebration than the capital city of the Northern Territory named in his honour. And who better to host such an event than the Charles Darwin University Foundation.

The Foundation: promotes our university; proclaims its successes; provides opportunities for individuals and companies to enjoy involvement as supporters of the Foundation, and therefore the university; and disperses funds to the very best advantage, e.g. student scholarships and special projects.

We are proud of our association with Charles Darwin, who was outstanding in the world of natural science.
Therefore, 12 February, 2017 is the date for the inaugural Black Tie Dinner, to be held at SKYCITY Darwin. The event seeks to inspire increased participation and pride in the work of our remarkable university.

Join us to celebrate Charles Darwin - and also our outstanding university which is instrumental in the ongoing evolution of the Northern Territory.
