An assessment of the current state of Intellectual Property (current players, and policies), then a focus on the future direction (needs, roadblocks, and realistic steps).
The panel features lawyers, content creators and futurists to discuss the current and future state of IP.
Panellists:
Mark Pesce (@mpesce) who is an inventor, writer, entrepreneur, educator and broadcaster.
Megan Macgregor (@Gabfran) who is a shoe obsessive, yogi, educator, lawyer, writer, and Scottish person.
Keir Winesmith (@drkeir) who is currently a development manager and technical lead for SBS, with a diverse background in media and technology. Matt Moore (@engin_eer) who spent over a decade guiding corporates, government and NGOs on better management of their intellectual capital.
Julian Peterson (@JulianFPeterson), former TimeOut marketing boss, a committed litigator with IP experience with the firm view that unless music and film industries get tough right now, music will get worse and film is about to hit a wall that it will never recover from...
It's a bold ambition, but we hope that by the end of the event we'll reach a simple consensus of a realistic direction IP could and should take.
Look forward to seeing you there.
