WEAR YOUR HEART
A Fashion Show for Charity
"Kutoa ni moyo, si utajiri" - Charity begins at home.
Hello,
We'd like to invite you to be a part of a very special event to benefit the TANZANIAN COMMUNITY.
The runway show will take place on Thursday, May 10 2012 at CARGO LOUNGE, located at 21 Lime Street, Sydney. The night will commence at 8pm with the catwalk to begin at 8:30pm. There will be an afterparty until 12pm to allow time for networking. All profits from the night will go to charity.
The night will be host to a variety of photographers, fashion representatives, stunning models and bloggers for you to network with, and most especially, raise funds for the charity. The emerging designers to showcase their work on the night include; Vivian Tung, Boman Leung, Emma Moy, Natalie Cook and Christie Trowbridge, as well as fashion illustrations by Evelyn Wong. Needless to say, it will be a great night.
There will be prizes to be won on the night, including 10 $100 gift voucher towards any Beach Houses and Villas at Contemporary Hotels. The first 20 people to purchase tickets online (BUY NOW!)
We hope to create a fun and non-confrontational way to inform our community about issues that affect the Tanzanian community, and to help raise funds. WEAR YOUR HEART will provide a platform to help raise awareness for our cause.
Why are we doing this?
Tamika Cartwright and Melany Clark will be travelling to volunteer in Tanzania, Africa in July 2012 through a not for a profit organisation called 'Volunteer Africa'. The girls will be volunteering in a rural community to construct staff housing in order to open a much needed medical facility, as well as constructing a rain water tank, so that the community has clean water to drink. Something that everyone should have access to. All money raised will go to supporting the volunteers during their stay as well as building and educational material for the Tanzanian community.
Some information about the charity
Volunteer Africa is a not for profit organisation, aiming to make a difference to the lives of rural Africans and to raise funds for partner NGOs. Volunteer Africa does not spend any money on paid advertising and operating costs are minimal meaning that the money you pay to participate is spent in Africa enabling community development.
