Vex is a modern and distinctly Australian fusion of punk, rap, classical Latin guitar and off-kilter drum breaks. The sound is energetic and honest, with moments of explosive intensity and softness mixed together. It’s their last show in Sydney before they jet off to make it big in London!

…their heads thrust under small breaking waves, bringing their feet up, temporarily carried by the motion… they tried to bodysurf back to shore and all got dumped…

‘A day at the beach’ is a celebration of the coastline that wraps around Sydney. The people we go with, who we meet there, and those we ogle at on the sand. Plunging into water, reading on the shore, curing hangovers – we experience the beach in a multitude of ways. This exhibition is a reflection on summer coming to an end and the beach days getting fewer and farther between.
